At HOMKA, welcoming guests follows a four-stage journey: a first contact before arrival to prepare the visit, a welcome in person or independent check-in with our support, a local point of contact throughout the stay, then an organised departure followed by a check of the property. At every stage, the aim is the same: for guests to feel expected, guided and free to enjoy the mountains.
This journey applies to the chalets and apartments we look after in Megève, Combloux and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. It is defined with each owner, according to the property and the services agreed, and can be complemented on request by concierge services: an in-home chef, groceries, transfers, bookings or moments of relaxation.
Before arrival: preparing for the guests’ visit
A successful stay is prepared in advance. Before the arrival date, our team gets in touch with guests to organise their visit and pass on the information they will need.
The information passed on to guests
These first exchanges cover the essentials:
- access to the property;
- arrival arrangements;
- any particular needs the guests may have.
The idea is simple: answer questions before they set off, so that guests arrive relaxed, without having to hunt for information at the last minute.
A home ready to welcome them
Depending on the services the owner has entrusted to us, we also take care of preparing the home: cleaning between stays, setting out the linen and warming it up. In the mountains, arriving in a clean, warm and well-kept interior makes all the difference after the journey. The content of each visit is set with the owner, according to the characteristics of the property.
On arrival: a welcome in person or independent check-in with our support
On the day of arrival, two options are possible, depending on the property and the arrangements chosen with the owner:
- a welcome in person, by a member of the HOMKA team;
- independent check-in with our support, where guests let themselves into the home, with all the information they need and a contact they can reach.
Settling in
In both cases, we help guests settle in quickly. We give them the key landmarks: how to access the property, how the equipment works, the house rules and the practical information they need for their stay.
The welcome booklet
A welcome booklet can complement these explanations. Guests can refer to it at any time for important details, without needing to contact us for a simple question.
During the stay: a local point of contact, always attentive
Once settled in, guests are not left to fend for themselves. Our team, based in Saint-Gervais, remains their local point of contact for the whole stay.
Questions, practical information and unexpected issues
A piece of equipment they cannot work out, a practical question, a problem in the home: guests know who to turn to. We help with their everyday needs and, when work is required, we arrange it in liaison with the owner.
Additional services on request
During the stay, some services can be added on request and subject to availability:
- mid-stay cleaning;
- a change of linen;
- baby equipment.
These services are particularly useful for longer stays or families with young children.
On departure: clear arrangements and a check of the property
The end of the stay is part of the welcome. We organise departure arrangements and the return of keys and access, according to how each property works.
The check after departure
Once the guests have left, the property is inspected. This allows us to note any issues or damage and pass the relevant information on to the owner, with photographs where necessary. The owner thus receives feedback on the condition of their property and decides on any next steps. This follow-up also helps prepare the next arrival in the best conditions.
Concierge services: thoughtful touches to enjoy the Pays du Mont-Blanc
Beyond the welcome, the HOMKA concierge service helps guests with whatever they have in mind, before and during their stay. Each request is considered according to the stay and the availability of our teams and partners.
What the concierge service can arrange
- Transfers & bookings: private transfers, restaurant bookings, including Michelin-starred restaurants, and ski lessons with certified instructors.
- Skiing: equipment delivered to the door, lift passes and instructor.
- In-home services: private chef, in-chalet spa treatments and massages, babysitting, groceries delivered before arrival, and breakfast.
- Events & wishes: event planning, mountain activities and recommended addresses.
How to make a request
Guests can reach us by WhatsApp, email or phone. To allow time to arrange everything, it is best to contact us a few days before arrival.
A welcome defined with each owner
This journey is not a fixed template. We define our involvement with each owner, taking into account their property and their arrangements: they can entrust us with the entire welcome or only certain stages, such as preparation, housekeeping, linen or on-site checks. Owners keep their decisions, their instructions and the contacts they have chosen; we keep them directly informed of the work carried out and of anything that needs their attention.
